documentation. Their operations require extreme precision in document generation and a
highly secure environment to handle information that is often subject to strict regulatory
oversight.

The Client faced a significant technical hurdle: their existing workflows for creating and managing complex medical-legal documents were limited by the capabilities of standard, off-the-shelf text editors. These third-party tools often lacked the necessary flexibility for advanced document structures and posed long-term risks regarding scalability and dependency. The primary challenges included: • Need for Absolute Control: The Client required a document creation environment tailored specifically to their proprietary workflows, which external libraries could not support. • Information Silos: Managing disparate legal and medical insurance records required a more efficient, centralized document management system (DMS). • Scalability Concerns: As the volume of complex documents grew, the system needed to maintain high performance without compromising data integrity or speed. • Security and Compliance: Given the nature of medical and insurance data, the platform required a "fortified" architecture to ensure secure, production-ready releases.
LogicMatrix developed Ortholegal, a comprehensive software platform designed to transform the lifecycle of medical-legal documentation. Leveraging our 9+ years of experience in building enterprise-grade products, we moved beyond a standard implementation to create a bespoke solution from the ground up. The architecture was built on a modern, high-performance stack: NestJS for a scalable backend, NextJS for a highly responsive frontend, and MongoDB for flexible, documentoriented data storage
1. Proprietary Custom-Built Text Editor The centerpiece of the platform is a sophisticated text editor built entirely from scratch by the LogicMatrix team. By avoiding external libraries or packages, we provided the Client with: • Tailored Functionality: Features specifically designed for the complexities of legal and medical insurance documentation. • Zero Dependency Risks: Full control over the codebase ensures long-term flexibility and the ability to update the editor as requirements evolve. • Superior Performance: A lightweight, optimized editor that handles complex document structures without the overhead of unnecessary third-party code. 2. High-Performance Document Management System (DMS) To complement the editor, we engineered a robust DMS that serves as the platform’s operational backbone. • Efficient Handling: Streamlined workflows for the storage and organization of thousands of documents. • Centralized Repository: A single source of truth that allows superusers to manage the entire document lifecycle, from creation to archival.
The system follows a clear, user-centered process designed to maximize productivity for superusers: 1. Project Initiation: A superuser logs into the secure NextJS-powered portal. 2. Advanced Document Creation: The user opens the Custom-Built Text Editor to draft complex documents. The editor provides granular control over formatting and data fields specific to legal-medical insurance needs. 3. Real-Time Data Persistence: As the document is created, the NestJS backend ensures seamless communication with the MongoDB database, saving progress and maintaining version history. 4. Storage and Organization: Once finalized, the document is automatically indexed within the Document Management System, making it instantly searchable and retrievable for future insurance or legal inquiries.
In line with LogicMatrix’s commitment to secure and compliant delivery, the platform was built with embedded security at every stage: • Code Quality & SAST: We utilized Static Application Security Testing (SAST) during the development of the NestJS and NextJS codebases to identify and remediate vulnerabilities early in the lifecycle. • Secrets Management: Sensitive credentials for database access and system integrations were managed through secure Secrets Management tools, ensuring no plain-text exposure. • Vulnerability Scanning: Continuous scanning was performed to fortify the platform against emerging threats, ensuring the environment remained "production-ready". • Fortified releases: By automating threat detection and enforcing compliance policies, we ensured that the Client’s sensitive data remained protected from unauthorized access
